Amazing Unknown Artists: The Paper Kites

Now, you might be thinking, "Oh great, he's going to go on about some stupid band that he loves and that we should all listen to them because they are just sooo great". Well, you are partially correct, and partially incorrect. You were right that I will "encourage" you too listen to their music at least once to see if you like them, but completely wrong that I'm going to go on about a "stupid band". Obviously, if the band was stupid I wouldn't take the time to let you guys know how great they are.
In the past few blog posts, I have talked about music, genres, and artists that are very well known and popular, or were popular at one point in time. This specific and special blog will be used to inform you readers and music lovers out there about artists or bands that aren't very well known.

The Paper Kites is one of my all time favorite bands that are not very well known what so ever. I guess you could categorize them as an Indie Folk/Rock and Alternative music band, mostly because of the way they express themselves through their songs and sing with a lot of passion.

Their most popular and also my personal favorite album they created was "Woodland" in 2001. It was also their first EP that they recorded and let out to the public. One of the songs that is on the Woodland album is "Featherstone", which was also their first official single. But my personal favorite song by them that I will recommend to everyone reading this is their Bonus Track on the album called "Bloom". This particular song is the one song that I could sit down anywhere, and listen to it on replay for days on end. The musical talent that this band had to have to create this song has to be immense. The guitar beat in this song is so mesmerizing. But what really caught my attention, was the vocalization. Not only does the lead singer have an amazing voice throughout the entire song, but at certain points in the song, the rest of the band all pitches in and harmonizes and creates an astounding sound.

So next time you are just chilling in your room, or just want to get away from the world and all its problems, I would seriously recommend that you look up The Paper Kites and lay back, close your eyes, and listen to the dreamlike sounds that come from this extremely talented band.
